It is not necessary to send in a Baseline Review but a useful first step for schools intending to submit an Award application is to fill in a Baseline Review. It will help capture current practices within your school.
Implement the changes and develop your provision in the Step-by-step Guide as reflected in the Award Pack.
Please contact your Local young carer services to support you with local engagement and development.
Utilise the young carers award checklist in the Award Pack to gather your evidence.
The guide to evidencing the Bronze award details all the essential and desirable evidence that is required to achieve a Young Carers in Schools award, in a ‘checklist’ format that allows you to keep track of the evidence that you have gathered
Even if you are confident in your provision for young carers, we ask that all schools begin by applying for Bronze in the first instance.
Before submitting your evidence please remember to:
Applications are only accepted in electronic formats so you can email your application and evidence to our YCiS team – please make sure to include the school name and level of application in the subject heading. Sometimes the emails are too big for our system to accept so it is advised to send them as separate emails per standard or alternatively to send them via WeTransfer which is a free file sharing website.
Deadlines for submission are the last day of every term and half term.
