Get Involved – Schools

Young Carers in Schools is a free initiative for all primary and secondary schools across England.

Your school can get involved by:

  • Filling in a Baseline Review to celebrate the Award criteria you currently meet and to identify what to do next to submit a successful Award application.
  • Returning your baseline review to include@childrenssociety.org.uk as soon as it is completed.  All schools intending to submit an Award application must return their review so that we can manage capacity and ensure we can review your full application once it is submitted. You can also request a free USB stick to use when submitting your application.
  • Signing up to the Young Carers in Schools e-Newsletter, webinars and access the Step-by-step Guide to make applying for an Award as easy as possible.
  • Finding out what evidence you need to gather for a Young Carers in Schools Award application by downloading the award guidance. Gathering evidence as you go makes life that little bit easier!

Downloading and submitting an Award application to get recognition for your school!
